Kölner Lichter 2019 - Germany's biggest fireworks spectacle

One of the most spectacular displays of fireworks with synchronized music will transform Cologne into a sea of lights and colours on 13 July 2019.The supporting musical programme will begin that afternoon at the Tanzbrunnen Köln. Admission is free of charge. In order to have a good view of the fireworks, make sure you secure a good place for yourself on the banks of the Rhine early in the day. Germany’s biggest display of fireworks with synchronized music will be presented starting at 11:30 p.m. on the banks of the Rhine between the Bastei and the Tanzbrunnen.
19th Cologne Lights on July 13, 2019
The event will be officially opened at 2 p.m. on both sides of the Rhine. The supporting programme will begin simultaneously at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne’s Rheinpark.
The high point of the programme will begin on the open-air stage at the Tanzbrunnen.
The TV station WDR will broadcast the event live starting at 8:15 p.m.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. the starting signal will sound for the 89th Cologne Stadtachter, a traditional regatta staged between Rodenkirchen and Cologne’s city centre.
Start of the ship convoy
The convoy of ships will set off from the Porz district of Cologne at approximately 9:50 p.m. About 50 festively decorated and lighted ships will set out toward the city centre, accompanied by fireworks.
At precisely 11:30 p.m., the breathtaking main fireworks display will begin along the Rhine.
